Funny thing about blogging and writing “about me” pages is that it is SO MUCH HARDER than would ever be expected. Putting the words going through your head on a post is not as easy as it looks.

I guess a good place to start would be to let you know that I am currently an undergrad student at Keene State College, double majoring in Chemistry and Biology (BS and BA respectively). My goal after undergrad is to attend grad school and and get my PhD in Medicinal or Organic Chemistry. I love discovery new things and enjoy puzzles, which I presume is why I love my majors as much as I do.

In addition to the amount of work that I do for my  majors, I am also a tutor! Tutoring has been a life changing experience that I would suggest everyone to try at least once. I am an introvert, and if life would allow me to, I would sit in my house with my dog and never leave. Being a tutor takes me out of my comfort zone and allows me to meet new people, and also help them understand topics that I am extremely passionate about. I have met some of my closest friends through tutoring.

My life isn’t all work and no play, I would actually say that more than half of my life is play, I think it is an essential part of life. I live in New Hampshire, so the outdoor activities are vast, which is why it is not surprising that lots of my hobbies include the outdoors. In the Summer you can most likely find me on the lake fishing, boating or swimming. One thing that brings me the absolute most joy in life is spending time with people I love on the water. In the winter, myself and my boyfriend try and go snowmobiling any chance we get. It is one of our favorite things to do. I am a huge sports fan, so in the Spring and Fall I enjoy going to baseball games or watching a football game in the living room with friends (GO PATS).

Finally, the love of my life is my Chocolate Lab, Questin. He came into my life at a time that I needed him most, and every single day is a new adventure. He is the calmest, sweetest, cuddliest, wildest, food-loving-est little nugget that has ever walked this planet. His favorite things include playing catch, eating, hockey, eating and cuddling with mom and dad. I will probably one day write a small blog about him.

If you want to know more about my professional life and I how I have spent my time in lab check out my resume!!!!

You officially know almost everything there is know about me. I’m excited to start this journey and hope that you as readers are excited to learn about my passions in the world of science.
